May 22: BayBio Therapeutic Breakfast | Hepatitis C: in Search of a Cure
According to National Institutes of Health (NIH), hepatitis C is currently estimated to affect over 4 million Americans, making it one of the nation's most common and difficult to treat blood-borne infections. With no vaccine on the immediate horizon and current treatments deemed difficult to tolerate, this disease has become a central focus and opportunity for many Northern California Life Science Companies. Current therapies to treat this disease focus on immune modulators in combination with ribavirin. Although this has been a mainstay of treatment options for Hepatitis C, it has limited ability to work for all patients. Promising new treatments are currently under study by our local life science companies to treat and cure this disease.
Please join us to learn their approach and hope; their innovation and desire; and future products in the pipeline. 8:00am - 10:00am at Latham & Watkins LLP, Menlo Park, CA.
